Scheduled maintenance impacting Faster Payments Aug 15, 2026 23:45 - Aug 16, 2026 04:15 BST

If your sort code is 23-69-72:
Please note that our third-party provider will be undertaking essential system maintenance, which will cause delays to Banking - Faster Payments.

🗓️ Outage Window
Starts: Saturday, 15 August 2026 at 23:45 BST
Ends: Sunday, 16 August 2026 at 04:15 BST

⚠️ How this affects you
Faster Payments OUT of your account will be queued during the maintenance window and automatically processed once it is complete.

Faster Payments IN to your account may be reversed and not credited during this period, so it would be best to organise for payments to be sent before or after this maintenance.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Systems do require maintenance, and our providers do their best to keep these disruptions to a minimum.

💬 Need help?
If you have any questions, please reach out to our Support team directly through your app or email us at support@countingup.com.

If your sort code is 04-36-15, payments during this period should be processed as expected.

Resolved - We can confirm that the technical issues with our provider yesterday evening have been fully resolved, and all Countingup services are back to normal.

Between 18:40 and 22:28 BST on 28/07/2026, our provider had a total platform outage. This meant inbound and outbound transfers, card authorisations, new account sign-ups, and in-app card controls (like freezing/thawing or grabbing your PIN) were unavailable. Other parts of the app were running fine throughout.

We know how much you rely on us to run your business day-to-day, and we are really sorry for the hassle and frustration this caused.

Thanks so much for bearing with us while we sorted it. If you noticed anything strange with a transaction during that window or need a hand with anything else, please reach out to the support team directly in the app and we’ll help you get sorted as soon as possible.

Investigating - One of our providers is experiencing technical difficulties, this is affecting:

- Inbound and outbound transfers
- Card authorisations
- New account sign up
- Card related features (activate, freeze/thaw, get PIN) in the Countingup app

Other Countingup app features are not impacted.

We are working with our provider to resolve this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Resolved - We've been informed that the fixes that were implemented have restored stability.

All payments that were queued have been released automatically - all of these have been successful. Any inbound payments that had been returned to the senders can now be attempted and should clear into your account.

We really appreciate your patience during this time.

Jul 27, 20:10 BST
Update - We’ve received an update that recovery is progressing well and some payments are processing much more reliably.

To make sure your money moves safely, outgoing Faster Payments will stay queued for a little bit longer. As soon as our provider confirms full stability and we’re completely confident in the connection, all queued payments will be released automatically.

Thanks again for bearing with us while we make sure everything is completely secure. We’ll drop another update here as soon as outgoing payments start moving.

Jul 27, 17:15 BST
Update - Third-party investigations remain ongoing into the Faster Payments service issues.

Here is what this means for your payments right now:
- Outgoing payments: Any payments you send are safely queued in our system. They will go through automatically as soon as the issue is resolved and service is fully restored.
- Incoming payments: Payments sent to you may go through as normal, or they might automatically reverse back to the sender if the connection drops.

Our team is monitoring the situation closely and working directly with our provider to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience while we get this sorted. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more news.

Update - Any outbound payments that have been attempted after 13:18 have been held and queued whilst the third-party technical difficulties are ongoing. These payments will be processed once the service is restored and stable.

Any inbound payments may be successful or may be reversed; this will depend entirely on the third-party provider.

This is still being investigated by the third party.
